CETA BURSARY SCHEME |
|

|
|
| |
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is committed to support tertiary education in the Construction Sector by offering bursaries to first year and continuing students pursuing careers that will benefit the construction sector. There are limited number of bursaries that CETA is offering for 2010 in the following disciplines:

Preference will be given to students who wish to pursue a career in Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying. No post-graduate studies will be sponsored. No correspondence/part-time studies will be considered for funding. |

WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Costs are limited to a fixed amount of between R35 000 (University of Technology) – R45 000 (University) per annum. The amount will cover all or part of the costs for tuition fees, prescribed books/stationery, residence and meals. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
|

| |

- Conferences
- Extra mural activities
- Laundry expenses
- Membership
- Parking expenses
- Private accommodation
- Travel expenses

ELIGIBILITY |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Bursaries are limited to full-time study of courses relevant to the construction sector both at CETA accredited Universities and Universities of Technology. |
|

|
|
| |
The following conditions apply: |
|
| |
- The course could not be attended without financial assistance
- The individual has not received any other bursary for those costs covered by CETA bursary
- The individual is registered or is eligible for registration at an accredited Tertiary Education Institution
- Previous year's outstanding fees are not covered by the bursary scheme
|

SELECTION CRITERIA |
|
| |
|
|
| |

Letter of acceptance from University or University of Technology for matriculants
- 60% Grade 12 academic achievement with Mathematics and Physical Science both at Level 5 and above.
No bursaries will be granted to existing students who are not promoted to the next year of study and have failed more than two subjects

Applications from designated groups will be given preference
-
Applications will only be considered from South African citizens.

- Letter of acceptance from tertiary institution: University or University of Technology
- Full academic history for students already studying at University or University of Technology
- Grade 11 December results and Grade 12 June 2009 results for Matriculants
