What are the requirements for provider accreditation?

 
  1. The primary focus of the provider must coincide with the scope and coverage of CETA
  2. The provider seeking accreditation must be registered in terms of the applicable legislation at the time of the accreditation.
  3. The provider seeking accreditation has a quality management system which includes quality management policies and procedures as well as review mechanisms to ensure that the degree of excellence specified for provision and assessment is achieved.
  4. The provider seeking accreditation is able to develop, deliver and evaluate learning programmes which culminate in specified registered standards or qualifications.
  5. The provider seeking accreditation has the necessary financial, administrative and physical resources
  6. The provider seeking accreditation has not been granted accreditation by or applied to another ETQA for primary accreditation
  7. The provider seeking accreditation should have effective assessment management in place, to demonstrate learner achievements against NQF Unit Standards or Qualification, to prove that assessments are outcomes-based and ensure that registered assessors and moderators are used

How does CETA support provider development?

 
  1. Building capacity in relation to good practice assessment, moderation and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  2. Raising awareness and promoting debate around quality assurance issues and practices
  3. Making available opportunities to participate in programmes that support emerging providers, concentrating on the small, medium and micro providers and previously disadvantaged providers.
  4. A continuous process of information dissemination on quality assurance practices and issues to providers, other ETQA’s, and relevant stakeholders in the industry.
  5. Promotion of an accessible and informative website.

Accreditation Process Steps

 
The CETAQA process for the Accreditation of Training providers is as follows:
 
  1. Contact the CETA regional office for an application form or download the application form from the CETA website
  2. Complete the CETA application for accreditation form
  3. Attach all relevant and supporting documents
  4. Submit original application form and copies of supporting documents to the CETA regional office
