Research and Support unit plays an integral function as the melting pot of information and data analysis for all the units within CETA. Its mandate is to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, consult with other research agencies and role players involved in construction sector. The outcome of the research is to compile Sector Skills Plan (SSP) for the construction sector.

The SSP gives an analysis of the state of the sector locally. It measures the economic, social, environmental challenges, training gaps and scarce and critical skills needs in the sector, demands and supply of skills, analysis evaluation of Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports and identification of scare and critical skills in the sector. The Unit is also tasked with the responsible of ensuring that CETA develops learnerships that are appropriate for the skills needs for the Construction sector.
