“TOGETHER WE CAN DO MORE”

Countdown to AGM

The Artisan Construction Programme:

On the 7th of September 2018 in Kuruman Northern Cape, the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), Northern Cape Rural Technical Vocational Education and Training College (NCRTVET College) and The Department of Roads and Public Works Northern Cape (DRPW) were launching the Apprenticeship programme of 160 learners that is envisaged to commence on the 1st of October 2018.

CETA, NCRTVET College and DRPW are in partnership in various initiatives across the entire Northern Cape Province with the aim of promoting skills development within the five strategic areas of the CETA; military veterans, youth, women, people living with disabilities and people from rural areas and townships. The Roles of various partners can be summarised as follows:

  • The CETA funds the Apprenticeship programme
  • The NCRTVET College is the employer allocated funding by CETA and is also the training provider
  • The DRPW in liaison with the municipalities played a crucial role in terms of the recruitment and selection of the learners for the Apprenticeship programme. The DRPW will also be responsible for the work placement of the learners.

The partnership is in support of government’s belief of “Working together we can do more”.
