Learning Programmes Implementation and Monitoring
The purpose of the programme is to facilitate skills development programmes and projects to both the employed and the unemployed people in the construction sector to enhance occupational mobility, organisational productivity for the employed people and graduates, and employability (including self- reemployment) for the unemployed people.
Bursaries:
The CETA bursary is a grant awarded to learners studying or registered to study for academic learning qualifications such as diplomas, degrees, and other construction sector qualifications. The bursary may be awarded to qualifying learners for built environment-related qualifications. The bursary is awarded for the duration of the study period, subject to the bursar’s successful completion of successive academic years. The bursary award is at the CETA’s discretion.
Internships:
Funding is offered through private and public entities to learners (either from a TVET College or University) who have completed their qualifications and are in need of work experience.
Candidacy:
The CETA takes candidates through a 3-year programme to assist them in attaining their professional registrations in the Build Environment Sector.
Higher Education Institution (HEI/HET) Students Placements:
This programme enhances theory training by offering practical experience for the University/ University of Technology for 12 months within the construction sector.
Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) Students Placements:
This programme enhances theory training by offering practical experience for TVET Colleges for 12 months within the construction sector.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL):
Work-integrated learning is an essential part of training and development. The practical experience allows the learner to become skilled, knowledgeable, ethical, and confident through the skills acquired before they graduate from HET and TVET institutions. The opportunity allows for greater development within the learner's chosen field of interest, whether that is building construction, built environment professions, material manufacturing, electrical and Road Construction, or Civil construction.
